Austeng recently designed and fabricated two novel Marine Gangways for Geelong tug company Engage Marine. These gangways were designed with the following features:
- Concrete counterweight with integrated forklift pockets, allowing for easy relocation anywhere on the wharf thereby providing great flexibility, deployment efficiency and eliminating the requirement for fixed installation provisions in the wharf infrastructure.
- Safe personnel access in high and low tides via innovative anti-slip curved step profiles on the hinged ladder with integrated AS compliant handrails.
- Lightweight Aluminium retractable ladder allowing compact storage and maintaining clear vessel birthing spaces. The lightweight ladder is easily operable by a single operator.
- Vessel access efficiency is provided by the 3m canit-lever access platform, eliminating the requirement for Engage Marine personnel to wear PFD whilst accessing vessels.
This is another great example of Austeng’s specialised Aluminium welding capabilities.
Indee and Pardoo of Engage Marine were grateful for Austeng’s ‘Dedication, excellence in design and build quality” noting “From initial consultation, through to design and manufacture, it was clear that Austeng had a high level of commitment to providing a first class product” and that “The follow up support post-delivery was second to none”.
