Austeng are a boutique engineering firm that specialises in the design, engineering, development and building of customised electromechanical machinery and systems.
Austeng has a proven track record in providing a bridge between a concept, idea or research and a commercial reality. It does this by working closely with start-up companies and Universities and turning their concepts or ideas into prototypes and commercial production facilities and generally collaborating with them to facilitate the path toward rapid commercialisation.
“If Australia is to re-establish itself as the “clever country” we must connect our inventors and innovators with sources of funding. Often we have found the gap between investment and a great idea/laboratory development is a proof of concept prototype/small scale machine/pre production device. Development of these devices removes risk for investors and demonstrates the validity of the Inventor/university idea.” Ross George, Managing Director
Such funding may well include government provided funding. We have successfully worked with numerous clients in the past in this regard securing funding from State and Federal levels of government. As an “industry partner” our reputation and experience in this area adds weight to the application. We can work with you to transform the idea/concept/lab device a concrete reality.
Chris Powell, Maintenance Director Department of Civil Engineering Monash University noted of Austeng;
“It has over many years become very difficult to find capable engineering manufacturers who are willing to take on concept or prototype work, Austeng have the flare, expertise and a willingness to take on these “left of centre projects”……. to the benefit of institutions like ours and others.
We did seek out other manufactures both within Australia and overseas with little interest other than to quote outrageous impossible budgets.
Austeng are local, had the capacity and ability to undertake this project with an acceptable budget and timeframe.
A very successful outcome has been achieved with expertise within Australia which is a rare occurrence these days.”
